6 Things to Clean in Your Home This Allergy Season

Allergy season doesn’t just live outside. Dust, dander, and pollen love to settle indoors—and your sinuses know it. Here are six spots to tackle if you want to breathe easier:
1. Air Vents & Filters
Your HVAC system is circulating more than just air. Dust builds up fast, and if you’re not changing filters every 1–3 months, you’re basically blowing allergens into every room.
2. Bedding
You sleep with dust mites every night (gross, we know). Wash sheets, pillowcases, and blankets weekly in hot water to kick them out.
3. Carpets & Rugs
These are allergen traps. Vacuum with a HEPA filter at least twice a week. More if you have pets.
4. Upholstery & Curtains
Soft surfaces collect dust and pet dander like it’s their job. Don’t ignore them—vacuum or wash monthly, and more often during peak allergy seasons.
5. Bathroom Surfaces
Mold thrives in damp spots. Clean shower grout, under sinks, and around toilets regularly to keep spores from spreading.
6. Entryways
Your shoes are dragging in pollen, dirt, and who-knows-what. Mop frequently, and consider a “shoes off” rule to cut down on tracked-in allergens.
Want a home that doesn’t make you sneeze just by existing in it? We can help with that.
